Squishy Baby - Tyler, TX Newborn & Infant Photography

This little girl was 9 days old when she came to visit me. Talk about squishy and sweet and cuddly and ADORABLE!!! I just could not get enough of her! She curled right up and let me position her any way I wanted. Check out how well she can balance her head! I was AMAZED at how well she held her head up for only 9 days old. Since this is December, I wanted to get some Christmas type pictures. I hung some Christmas lights on the backdrop and a few ornaments on the bed. Her mom was probably thinking I was a little crazy (I am, but shhhhh, don't tell anyone). I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys. I am so glad you called me to photograph your daughter. Maybe I will get to photograph her GORGEOUS older sister one day (hint, hint). Crossing my fingers. . .

I seriously can't stand the cuteness!!! This brother and sister were just too adorable and you could see how much they love each other. Little "D" gave me the sweetest smiles. He was so FAST too that I had to be quick or I would miss all the good stuff. I kept asking Little Miss "P" for a sassy pose. She is such a sweet and pretty little girl. I had so much fun photographing them. I got to sneak in a few of their mom too. Isn't she gorgeous? You can totally see where they get their good looks from. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys. Finding Beauty - Tyler, TX Child & Children's Photography

Have you ever walked past the same place hundreds of times, but never really looked at it? Right outside my kitchen window used to be an overgrown pasture. My husband cut down a small path to get to the pond he likes to fish at. I have noticed the path before and thought it might be a good place to take pictures. I took my son out there yesterday and really looked at this spot for the first time. There were beautiful trees with leaves changing to fall colors. On this path there are trees that arch above it on both sides and there are leaves on the ground that have fallen off the trees. The sun peeks in from the pasture and it is just so magical. How have I lived in this house for almost 3 years and not seen the beauty right in my own back yard? Apparently I don't spend enough time doing the dishes and looking out that window. Never have I thought their was so much beauty right where I live. As a photographer I admire has said before, all you need is a "pocket" of light with a beautiful background. Finding that perfect "pocket" is what makes all the difference in the world.

Urban Family - Tyler, Texas Child & Children's Photographer

My sister and her family came out on Saturday for a Christmas mini session. We did urban style pictures for their family Christmas cards. If you know me, you know I absolutely LOVE urban style pictures. I don't think anything can top it (except for a fresh, squishy newborn). We had so much fun. My nephews and niece were making me laugh so hard. After we finished with the urban pictures, the sun had just set and I knew what I had to do. I had to drag them to my favorite little spot where the light and sky is always just magical. I have always wanted to try a family jumping picture. The children were so excited that they got to jump after being so serious for the other pictures. I just love how it turned out. And keeping with tradition, I got covered in stickers as I always do in that favorite spot of mine (and I am not talking about smilie face stickers). So, a big thank you to my sister for picking the stickers off of me. Thanks so much for letting me photograph your family. I had a blast! I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek.

Sleeping Beauty - Tyler, TX Baby, Newborn & Infant Photographer

This little girl was so sweet and so beautiful and so cuddly. I have never seen a baby with hair so blonde. She was just a perfect little angel. It is amazing how much she put up with too. I swaddled her, unswaddled her, put a hat on her, put her on a doll bed, changed blankets twice and changed backdrops twice. All the while she just slept and didn't complain. The last picture I took of her was right after she ate. She was so content and just wanted to look around. I just love how wide open her pretty little eyes are. Enjoy your sneak peek guys!

Fresh Baby - Tyler, Texas Newborn & Infant Photography

This little sweetie was 5 days old and totally new and fresh and squishy and, SIGH, just perfect. I kept telling her mom she was a perfect little poser. She really let me position her any way I wanted without much complaining at all. I had a space heater keeping her warm so she could just curl up and sleep. Yes, I know! It is summer in TX and I am using a space heater. Sounds kind of ridiculous, doesn't it? I did get a bit toasty, but it was totally worth it. I am so glad I talked her mom into letting me snap a quick picture of them together. There is nothing like the love between a mother and her child. Enjoy your sneak peek guys. Summer Time - Tyler, Texas Urban Children's Photographer

I have been taking some personal time off, so it has been a while since I blogged. I went out last week to take some pictures of my son. I have had the Coke pictures in my head for a while. My husband drives a truck for Coca-Cola and my son loves all things Coke. He had a blast! I have also been wanting to get a picture of him holding balloons for years, but it just never came together until this session. It was overcast outside, so the light was beautiful, and there were fluffy white clouds in the sky. I just knew that was the perfect day to make the vision in my head come to life. I am so in love with the balloon picture that I am getting it printed BIG on canvas and hanging it in my son's room.

Family "Bay"cation - Tyler, Texas Children's Photography

It has been over 3 weeks since I last posted. Things have been so crazy! I took a few weeks off and one of those weeks we went to Destin, FL on family vacation. My son calls it baycation, thus the post title. We had a blast! We did nothing but sit on the beach and relax. I was so sad to leave and told my husband I want to pack up and move there. He thought I was kidding. I wasn't.

Since no blog post is complete without pictures, I will get on with it. I have some beach pictures, some scenery pictures while we were there and then a few recent pictures of my sweet little boy.

I have been wanting some fun umbrellas for a while now. A few weekends ago it was pouring buckets outside. I went to buy this rainbow umbrella that I have been eyeing. When I walked out of the store it had quit raining. Go figure! Friday I decided to get some fun pictures anyways even if it wasn't raining. We blew some bubbles first and then took out the umbrella. It is bigger than he is! He had so much fun. The next morning it rained. I got him dressed and ready to go outside and then the sun came out. I have the worst timing! We drove up to our church and I took some pictures of him playing in the puddles. Last night it actually rained and I got some pictures of him under the new bubble umbrella while it was raining. He was not all that cooperative, so I took what I could get. I am going to have so much fun using these umbrellas as props!

I had so much fun photographing this little girl Monday morning. I am really getting into urban style photography. She looks so cute with her hands on her hips in that sassy little pose (I told her to do that). After the urban pictures, we headed back so she could put on her Easter dress. On the way back, I passed by a clearing I like to use for silhouettes. The clouds were dark on that side of the sky and it was just calling my name. Imagine that! The wind was so strong she had a hard time holding the umbrella. I think it was totally worth it though. Finally she got to put on her Easter dress and I made her twirl, and twirl, and twirl like 500 times. The sun kept going behind the clouds and I wanted the light just right. I think that was totally worth it too. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys. I had a blast!

Fun Family - Tyler, Texas Child Photography

I had the pleasure of photographing this fun family while their grandchildren were in town for a visit. Let me tell you, these children are beautiful, so they made my job easy. They all have amazing eyes. AND, look at the hair on the oldest boy. Gorgeous! Some children just have all the luck. This family was up for anything. Family Ties - Tyler, TX Child Photographer

I spent some time with my sister in Dallas on her children's spring break last week. It had been over a year since I had taken any pictures of my nephews and niece. Well, in my opinion, that is just COMPLETELY unacceptable! I got there on Wednesday and started off with some studio pictures of my niece. Thursday morning we woke up early to head out for an urban shoot. When I say early, I mean my son was confused that he was awake and it was still dark outside. That afternoon we did some more studio pictures of my nephew and then I returned to my first love. . . window light. I was a great trip, and I think I got a lot of wonderful images of my nephews and niece that really show their personalities.

It has been almost a year since I took this little guy's newborn pictures. I can't believe he will be ONE next week. Time goes by so fast with little ones. They change so much. They just grow up too fast (sniff, sniff). He was so sweet while I was photographing him. He has the prettiest smile and the most amazing eyes. Gorgeous Smile - Tyler, Texas Child Photography

This little boy has the most GORGEOUS smile! And the best part??? He is my little boy! We headed out a few mornings ago to take some urban pictures. Well, as urban as it gets in a town with a population of 796. If you live in my town you might even know exactly where these pictures were taken. Never underestimate the beautiful light you will find on the porch of the only grocery store in town. On our way home I glanced out the window and noticed some really dark clouds near a clearing I have been using recently for silhouettes. This silhouette is a little different than the ones I am used to doing. I really like the eery look of the angry clouds and the creepy tree.

I had such a blast last Thursday photographing this beauty. She was willing to try anything, which is saying a lot because I can be pretty crazy. I was laying on the floor and climbing up on chairs.
